User Guide
1. Get Subscription
Potatso itself is just a tool and does not provide network services. You need to use it with a Provider (Subscription). If you are not sure how to choose one, please refer to How to Choose the Right Provider↗.
2. Import Subscription
After obtaining the subscription, there are usually several ways to import it:
Method 1: One-Click Import (Recommended)
On the provider's website, there is usually a button like "One-Click Import" or "Import to Potatso". Clicking it will automatically launch the App and import the configuration.
Method 2: Scan QR Code
- Open the Potatso App.
- Click "Add a Proxy" or the "+" sign in the top right corner.
- Select "QR Code" and scan the QR code provided by the service provider.
Method 3: Manually Copy Link
- Copy the Subscription URL from the provider's website.
- Open the Potatso App and click "Add a Proxy" or the "+" sign.
- Select "Add URL" (or Type: URI).
- Paste the link into the URL bar, and you can give it a name (Remark).
- Click "Done" to save.
3. Start Proxy
- After successful import, you will see a new item in the configuration list.
- Make sure the configuration you just imported is selected.
- Click the blue play button (circular switch) in the bottom right corner.
- First Time Setup: The system will verify permissions with "Potatso Lite Would Like to Add VPN Configurations". Please click "Allow".
- After verifying your fingerprint or password, the button will turn into a red stop icon, indicating a successful connection.
4. Smart Routing vs Global Proxy
Potatso usually has mode selection at the bottom:
- Smart Routing: Recommended. Automatically routes traffic based on rules; domestic websites connect directly, while foreign websites go through the proxy.
- Global Proxy: All traffic goes through the proxy. Usually used in specific cases (e.g., when some websites are not recognized correctly).
